The job entails everything you might imagine would be involved in being part of a three member team on the business side of a start-up ballet company.

Part-Time Grant Writer
ACB seeks a part-time grant writer experienced with corporate and foundation grants and organizations with budgets over 1 million. Knowledge of classical music, collaborative grants, new organizations and Los Angeles based philanthropic organizations is a plus.

Company Class Teacher
ACB is seeking part-time ballet teachers to supplement our current staff.
We are seek individuals who are able to understand and assimilate the technical and aesthetic needs of the company, and to help the dancers achieve them through class exercises and combinations. There is potential for growth into rehearsal director/ballet master positions for the right individuals.

American Contemporary Ballet, now in it’s second season, produces original contemporary classical ballets in Los Angeles, California. ACB’s repertory is choreographed by Artistic Director Lincoln Jones and is performed to live music played by some of LA’s finest musicians. Dancers (2014)
Our season runs from January through mid-August. Most dancers are hired for our summer series, MUSIC+DANCE:LA. Every season features new, original ballets, choreographed on the season’s dancers by ACB Director Lincoln Jones.
Full-season contracts begin in January, and are generally filled with dancers hired for the previous year’s M+D:LA performances. Contracts for M+D:LA I generally begin mid-April, and contracts for M+D:LA II begin mid-June.
Company contacts available for female and male ballet dancers at $250-$700 per week + physical therapy and pointe shoes. Apprentice contracts are also available. Limited housing and transportation assistance may be available.
We hold live auditions annually in Los Angeles and New York City between January and March. Audition dates are announced in the fall. The audition will consist of a ballet class, women on pointe. Professional level classical technique required. Please bring a headshot and resume.
